Lena Headey in Cersei’s Walk of Atonement from Game of Thrones (2011-2019)

Lena Headey plays Cersei Lannister in “Game of Thrones” (2011 to 2019), and this is the famous walk of atonement from the fifth season finale, “Mother’s Mercy” (2015). Imprisoned by the High Sparrow and his religious order, Cersei confesses to adultery and is made to walk naked from the Great Sept of Baelor to the Red Keep through the streets of King’s Landing. Her hair has been cropped, and a septa follows behind ringing a bell and chanting “Shame” as the crowd jeers, throws food and spits at her. The sequence was shot in Dubrovnik, and actress Rebecca Van Cleave served as a body double for the full length shots, with Lena Headey’s face added digitally. The scene is written as public humiliation and is one of the most discussed moments of the series, showing Cersei stripped of every bit of power she has fought for. By the time she reaches the Red Keep she is bloodied, exhausted and in tears. A powerful, difficult sequence that sets up her revenge in the following season.
