Kathrine Thorborg Johansen in the Morgue Opening of Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes

This clip is from the opening of “Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes” (2021), the Norwegian Netflix series that mixes dark comedy with vampire horror. The lead, Live Hallangen, played by Kathrine Thorborg Johansen, has been found lifeless in a field and taken to the hospital morgue. In this scene she lies on the autopsy table while pathologists in blue scrubs, masks and gloves examine her and prepare for the procedure. Then, without warning, she gasps and sits up, to the horror of the staff, which sets the whole story in motion. Kathrine appears nude on the table, but the scene is played as shock and black humour, not as anything erotic. The clip then jumps to a later bedroom scene at night, which ends with Live’s face smeared with blood, a hint of the strange new hunger she has brought back with her. The series follows her family’s struggling funeral business in a quiet village where nobody seems to die, until suddenly they do. Credited cast across the season also includes Marta Banderas. A quirky, stylish Scandinavian horror comedy.
