Emy in the Bloody Climax of the Finnish Horror Film Dead Bait (2016)

Emy appears in “Dead Bait” (2016), a Finnish horror film set around a remote lake deep in the forest, where a lone man preys on anyone who strays too close to his cabin. This clip is from the film’s most violent stretch. Her character lies naked and tied face down to a wooden table beside the water while the man attacks her. He then bites her, and by the end of the scene she is covered in blood. The sequence is staged as pure horror, with grey northern light, still water and the sound of the woods making the isolation feel complete. It is not a love scene in any sense, and it shows the killer’s cruelty rather than anything erotic. The film is a very low budget production that leans on its bleak setting and extreme content to shock its audience, in the tradition of backwoods horror. This scene follows on directly from the earlier lakeside sequences and represents the grim payoff of the story, so viewers sensitive to graphic violence should be aware of what it contains before watching.
