Maisie Dee as Daisy in the Garden of Bones Scene from Game of Thrones (2011-2019)

Maisie Dee plays Daisy in “Game of Thrones” (2011 to 2019), HBO’s epic fantasy series. This clip is from the second season episode “Garden of Bones”, in which King Joffrey reveals his cruelty in private. After Tyrion sends two women from Littlefinger’s brothel to Joffrey as a gift, Joffrey orders Ros, played by Esmé Bianco, to beat Daisy while he points a loaded crossbow at them both. The women are terrified, Daisy is stripped and struck, and Joffrey watches coldly, making it one of the clearest early signs of how dangerous he is. Maisie Dee appears nude, but the scene is written and shot as abuse, and the audience is meant to be horrified by it. The episode also follows Robb Stark’s war campaign, Daenerys arriving at Qarth and Littlefinger’s scheming in King’s Landing. For fans of the series, this is a key moment in Joffrey’s story that sets up much of the hatred he earns from viewers over later seasons. A dark and uncomfortable scene from one of the most watched shows of its era.
