Gabriella Wright as Sylvie in a Tense Flashback from True Blood (2008-2014)

Gabriella Wright plays Sylvie in “True Blood” (2008 to 2014), HBO’s Southern vampire drama. This scene is a flashback from a later season that explains a painful part of Eric Northman’s past. Sylvie is Eric’s human lover, and the two are interrupted at night beside an old red tractor by members of the Yakuza, who have come to punish Eric for crossing powerful people. Pam, with her big eighties curls, looks on with the gangsters while their leader, in a sharp black suit, calmly lays out the threat. Sylvie, partly undressed, is held at blade point and then killed in front of Eric, who can do nothing to stop it. The moment explains a grudge Eric carries for decades and casts light on Pam’s complicated feelings about his lovers, adding weight to their strained relationship in the present day storyline. Alexander Skarsgård gives one of his most emotional performances as Eric. The scene is brief but important for fans following the vampire politics that drive the later seasons.
