Cherie Jimenez in a Brutal Torture Scene from Banshee (2013-2016)

Cherie Jimenez appears in “Banshee” (2013 to 2016), the Cinemax crime drama about an ex convict posing as the sheriff of a small Pennsylvania town where the local underworld is run by ruthless men. In this scene her character lies bound in rope and gagged in a dim room while a man burns her bare skin and a blonde woman stands by and watches. The sequence is shot to show the sadism of the people involved and the danger facing anyone caught up in their schemes, and it is not staged as erotic in any way. Cherie appears topless. Banshee was known for pushing the limits of violence on cable television, and scenes like this were used to establish the villains as truly dangerous before the show’s heroes moved against them. The low light, tight shots of faces and the silence of the room make it one of the most disturbing moments in the series. It is a short clip, but it captures the dark, pulpy tone that made the show a cult favourite among fans of hard edged crime television.
