The film is set in the Joseon royal court, and this sequence is lit by candles in rooms full of carved wood and silk screens. It opens with a man in a wide black hat and court robes, then cuts to bodies moving together in the candlelight, with Cha Ji Yeon naked and arched over a low bed. There are shots of a couple in a bath together, shoulders bare, and lingering close ups of her smooth back and round bare bottom as she rolls over. Later a woman with long dark hair sits quietly in the shadows while men watch, and the camera returns to her face, lit gold, as she lowers her eyes.
