Violet, the jealous vampire played by Karolina Wydra, has lured Adilyn and Jason Stackhouse to her mansion and locked them in an ornate dungeon filled with chains, devices and a roaring fireplace. Adilyn, played by Bailey Noble, hangs in chains in her bra while Violet taunts her captives and heats an iron poker in the fire, planning to make them suffer for crossing her. Jason, played by Ryan Kwanten, is caught up in the ordeal too. The tension breaks when Jessica, played by Deborah Ann Woll, arrives and the captives fight back, and the scene ends with a fierce confrontation. The sequence is staged as a horror set piece about Violet’s cruelty, and nothing in it is meant to be seductive. It is one of the most intense moments of the show’s last run of episodes and gives Jessica a key heroic turn. A dark, gothic sequence with lavish production design.
